Medical Billing Specialist- Pediatric Feeding Therapy

MightyMouths Pediatric Feeding Therapy is seeking a dynamic medical billing specialist for part-time services. This is a great opportunity for someone with a current medical billing position to supplement their existing work schedule. Hours are flexible and potential to work from home at times.

The area of focus is pediatric feeding therapy which is performed by a speech-language pathologist.

Qualification Requirements Include:
-Extensive medical billing experience
-BlueCross BlueShield billing experience a plus
-Proficient knowledge of medical billing software
-Direct experience billing pediatric feeding therapy via a Speech-Language Pathologist
-Thorough knowledge of CPT and ICD9 codes and modifiers specific to pediatric feeding therapy (for speech language pathologists)
- Completion of a medical billing & coding training program preferred
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Excel

Job Duties and Responsibilities
-Insurance Eligibility Verification
-Work EOBs/denials
-Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports of aging AR
-Proactively research and understand payer issues
-Resolve posted denials within specified time frames
-Ensure proper adjudication of claims
-Fix and edit billing mistakes
-Refund or request offsets with insurance companies
-Write appeals
-Monitor insurance changes and regional and local billing and regulatory issues as they pertain to pediatric feeding therapy & update practice manager on industry changes.
